Alanis Morissette, Marlay Park, Dublin 19/08/08

''It's meeting the man of my dreams, and then meeting his beautiful HUSBAND''

For a birthday present from my boyfriend; John, I got a ticket to go and see the Alanis Morissette & Lenny Kravitz concert. Having been talking about it for months beforehand, I couldn't wait to go to it, but I was only there for Alanis, as I neevr really knew who Lenny Kravitz was except that he was the guy who sang 'fly away'.

It's a day I will never forget in a hurry and a memory to cherish forever. There's nothing more gratifying than meeting one of your idols and getting to see Alanis Morissette perform live has to be one of the most blissful moments I have ever experienced and would do anything to see her live again. Standing in amongst the cheerful swaying crowd I stood with my boyfriends arms wrapped around, I couldn't help but sway along and sing my heart out along with Alanis and the crowd before rocking out during her more upbeat and uptempo sets.

She blended a setlist of her classic songs such as 8 Easy Steps, Hand In My Pocket, Head Over Feet and You Oughta Know with material from her new album aswell. She started of by rocking out with Uninvited, and finished off with her most recognisable songs of Ironic and Thank You. Changing one of the lines in Ironic to: it's meeting the man of my dreams, and then meeting his beautiful HUSBAND, she got a massive uproar of cheers and laughter from the crowd, stopping Alanis during the song before ending it off on a high getting everyone excited and in the mood for the finale of Thank You, and as everyone sang along, it was pretty much like the crowd thaking Alanis for such a great performace.

Big Brother 9 ~ Week 10 Review

Rachel has survived eviction and Stuart ahs been sent packing! The boring man who was only useful for staring at his ncie body is gone. He wont be missed by me at all, and I;m just extactic that my favourite, Rachel is yet again in the House for another week. Highlight of the evition:- Stuart stage driving only for the crowd to move away and let him land on the hard concrete ground!!!

This week wasn't much of a great week entertainment wise, and showed Big Brother really likes reusuing idea's from past seasons this year, with the Big Brother Olympics task reapperaring again, but this time in a dire dire manner with events such as feather throwing and a slow race. Memo to Endemol, get brains and think up some good tasks for once!

Mikey got on my nerves this week with throwing water over contestants and using that darn fucking megaphone to speak all the time. Serious, he is getting to be more extremem than Bex, and that's really saying something. And as usual on the annoyance, Rex. As much as I dislike Nicole too, Rex is nothing but a constant prick to her. Why are there sequins missing from your pink dress, Nicole? How can you not remember the exact contour of my belly-button, Nicole? Have I got anything to worry about Nicole?' For fuck sake Rex, grow some balls and grow up!

So has my Top 6 changed at all this week?

1 - Rachel
2 - Kathreya
3 - Lisa
4 - Darnell
5 - Sara
6 - Mikey

Foto Friday #5

This is 'Red Alert' and was taken right before the rain took a drastic turn and pelting down from the Heavens. Black clouds moved in overhead turning the city into darkness during the afternoon! This created such an onimous mood which was perfect for the picture. The red traffic light is llike a slight warning for the troubles to come.

ABBA: The Movie ~ The Review!

Yes this is a review on the theatrical re-release of the 1977 'epic' movie that is ABBA: The Movie, and not Mamma Mia! (which is also awesome, and well worth seeing). Re-released with the success of Mamma Mia and the new upsurge of ABBA-mania that has followed including ABBA Gold returning to number one in the charts for the fifth time since it's release 15 years ago in 1992.

The movie has avery lose plot which is centred around a radio DJ; Ashlee Wallace who is sent out to get an indept interview, almost dialouge for there ABBA special planned to air the day they leave Australia on their 1977 tour. The story is intertwined with lots of live footage from the ABBA concerts from many venues around Australia.

But things aren't too good for Ashlee as he sets of without his press-pass and finds it hard to access the band and is constantly missing them at the press talks and his constant run in with ABBA's bodyguard. The movie does offer some hilarous moments including the dream sequence of 'The Name Of The Game' and the weird editing during 'I'm A Marionette'. There are also plenty of laughs at their mad Swedish accents, crazy dance routines, Agnetha's constant ass shaking and Benny's mentally overboard keyboard playing.

As a big ABBA fan myself, this was a great to witness and to see how the band performed live was an awesome sight. Getting the chance to witness soem of their songs that were never released such as 'Get On Your Carousel' was epic for myself. Getting the chance to witness how big the band were back in their hayday was something spectacular to see with fans rushing into stadiums hours beforehand and flooding the streets outside their hotels just to try and get a glimpse at their Swedish idols and the merchandise for them... jaysus!

All in all, this is not a movie to go to see for a plot, since it really lacks one, but is more to witness the concert and see the band live and watch the documentary of their tour of Australia and is a must see for all ABBA fans.

Big Brother 9 ~ Week 9 Review

So the hot male totty of Dale has been evicted, not entirely sure why though as I found him to be more interesting and entertaining than Stuart. The only reason i can think of for his eviction is that he was part of team bitch (bex, luke, jen, dennis etc.). But with one more gone, and 4 weeks to go, the final is in sight, and I'm expecting the Housemates to be more tactful from now on. Let's hope that the games will begin!

This week's task proved that Big Brother can be entertaining without all the bitchiness and fighting as I thouroughly enjoyed watching the japanese puppetry thing (forgot it's name), it was amazing to watch and was pulled of brilliantly by them. Loved how hell just got a normal boring finger puppet show!

Now onto this weeks main event, the reuniting of Rex and Nicole,or as they're known now... Posh & Rex (clever). At first Rex didn't look too impressed to see his girlfriend enter the House, and that's exactly how he felt. Complaining in the Diary Room, that his plans have been ruined with her addition and that coping and playing in the House will be much harder now. Oh so, you're a game player now, eh? After all that accusations against Rachel hmm? Well, over the week, there's been nothing but bickering and fighting between the two, and watching the way Rex treats his 'princess' is disgusting. With the way he treated the other femailes in the House aswell, it's beginning to show that Rex just has a problem with females.

Rex calling nicole 'princess' is no exaggeration however as she proved how much of a posh spoilt brat she was by constantly moaning over her suitcase, but now that she recioeevd at the end of the week, will she be able to shed the princess tag, and will she no longer be known as just Rex's girlfriend? Since her arrival, Rex has stopped on his tyrant attacks on Rachel, who made an interesting HOH, by trying to rebel against Big Brother by 'washing dishes', which she did at her peril, and got punished, well Hell did.

With only 4 weeks to go until the final, I'm gonna start my weekly Top 6, the people I think will make it, and in their finishing order.

1 - Rachel
2 - Darnell
3 - Lisa
4 - Kathreya
5 - Stuart
6 - Sara

Summer Sunshine, My Arse!

Yay, isn't the Irish summer just brilliant? After 24hours of non-stop rain, Dublin has become a flooded city. With water rushing down the streets, puddles around 25 times larger than before, and deeper, constant rain gushing and pelting down from the skies as thunder and lightening flash and roar. Traffic on all the main roads coming to a standstill, and the River Liffey rising high, with it's toxic ridden waters close to overflowing.

Gardaí have even closed off some of the major roads due to flash floods, and in my own area, the N3 has been closed off, Blanchardstown and Mulhuddart villages are flooded as the Tolka has bursted it's banks. It took me an impressive 2 hours and 45 minutes to travel home by bus, with a half-hour waiting time before hand, making it a total of 3 hours and 15 minutes. A new record for me.

Why can't Ireland not have a normal summer for once?

Foto Friday #4

This week's Foto Friday is a 'photographical manipulation'. This originally started off as a normal generic photograph taken in the Dublin Docklands, near Spencer Dock, but I used this one for teaching myself how to do some manipulations on PSPX2, This time around I decided to change it to Black & White, increase the contrast, and then fianlly invert it, and this is the brilliant outcome. I really love this one, and hope others do to!

Message In A Bottle

About 4 or 5 weeks ago, I was in Howth, Co. Fingal with some friends and we were celebrating one of their birthdays on the beach.I thought it'd be a great idea to write a message in a bottle and send it off, so a group of us worte one and send it asail on the windy waves. We wrote it in numerous languages, just in case it ended up in Denmark, Iceland, Sweden...

Well upon opening my email today, I discovered a letter from a guy from Isle of Man, and it turned out our bottle has ended up there! It had washed up on the stony beach at the Point of Ayre in the northern most point of the Isle of Man. He discovered it while out walking with his family and felt great at discovering it. He mentioned that it was up high on the beach, so a high tide must have washed it in.

I feel great that our message was found, and the guy was extactic at finding it. It's now driving me to send some more off and see where they wash up!

The journey the bottle made!

Beadle Juice!

One of the funniest things I have seen on television in a good long while!

Parkour! Park-what now?

I had my first experience of Parkour at the weekened, all I can is, it was a lot of fun, and something I'm gonna take up. The guys I met that showed me the basics, were dead sound and very welcoming. For those of you who don't know what Parkour is, you get a bitch slap, but according to the wonderful wikipedia, parkour is ''an activity with the aim of moving from one point to another as efficiently and quickly as possible, using principally the abilities of the human body.''

Big Brother 9 ~ Week 8 Review

You all must know by now, how much I hated Bex and Luke this year, so imagine my hapiness last week when Bex got the chop, I was extactic, but when Luke got eveicted this week, OMFG! I don't think words could describe how happy I was to see his whiney moaning butt get kicked out. But in fairness, I must admit, during the first few weeks, I did find Luke to be an amzing Housemate, who was great in the Diary Room, came out with the best come backs and had great amazingly timed comedy moments, if he stayed this way, I think he could've won, but he succumbed to the evil's oof the bitching of Bex, Jen, Dale etc. His interview with Davina, was one of the best of the series, only if he stayed that way instead of going downhill.

Well Luke wasn't the only Housemate to leave through the doors of the Big Brother House this week, as Maysoon (again, Maywho?) voluntarily left the show as she was home sick and missing her family, but there wont be much change there as she did nothing anyway. This week's HOH was Stuart, as all HM's competed to win the power by eating as much chilli peppers as they could, each worth different points depending on their hotness. This proved the a great task to watch, especially with Mohamed, Kathreya, Dale and Mikey.

But Stuart's reign of the House as HOH was short lived as he was stripped of his powers for breaking the rules along with numerous other HM's for discussing nominations. Dale & Luke were the original nominees, but Darnell, Kathreya, Mohamed Rachel, Rex and Stuart were put up for punishment for discussing nominations with a crappy code (Wigan = Luke, The girl from far away = Kathreya etc.) based on were each HM was from.

After failing this weeks dire task of Cops & Robber's, the basic budget was £77, which Rex bought; tea bags, milk, biscuits, coffee and 57 of the Ever Changing Prizes! Wow, wonder how the next week will pan out with that, so far this week they've been laughing over it from recieveing randomness such as prams, a full stripped pig amongst them. And prize 57 was revealed live on Friday. It was Rex's girlfriend Nicole, who is the 21st HM this series, yes she is a fully fledged HM who can win the show. He didn't look to pleased about that.

Rex is the enxt HM on my absolutely hating list, he is the most sarcastic and intimidating HM in their and is a bully. The way he treated Rachel during the week iover her VT was disgraceful. He shouldn'nt be allowed to carry on like that, to make a grown woman cry is a vile thing to do and I think it's time Big Brother stepped in and done something about it. At least Lisa had the guts to stand up and lay into him, but as usual he smirked and acted smug. But will he be acting different this week that his 'Princess' is now living with him? We'll have to find out...

Foto Friday #3

This week's Foto Friday is 'Safe?', named for obvious reasons and was taken at the Kings of Concrete festival in Dublin last Saturday (26th July), this is an amazing grafitti pop art style coloboration that caught my attention immediately as it stood proudly on the hillside. I must admit that the artwork on show ain't my own work and unfortunetly I didn't catch the artists name. The sunny weather that day helped show of the colours more vibrantly and vividly in the artwork, and thankfully it's all captured beautifully in the photo.
